This new spot for Lego edited by Laura Cairney Keize, directed by David Mellor and produced by Alex Davis of HighlyUnlikely catapults us back to the vivid mind of child's play.
Director David Mellor said: “This was a dream project, and the passion I had for it shows in the final result. I was able to draw on all my experiences to orchestrate an epic adventure here, which for a brief moment takes us out of reality. Planning was key due to the very technical nature of the task. I knew that ensuring we consider all the aspects through to finish would in turn build the smoothest and best result for the film. Getting all of the details in order ultimately meant we can focus on the fun and action. It allowed our inner child, and petrol head, to come out and play. Something certainly needed on occasion at the moment!"
Editor Laura also commented 'Obviously there's a lot of CG in this ad so the challenge I had was to bring in the humour and performance and not let that element get lost. Each character needed their own moment – something that reflected the personality of the car they were driving. In the 30 sec TVC this was especially challenging as the majority of the time is given to the vehicles. It was also just a lot of fun getting into something high-octane. Supercars and LEGO - what’s not to love?'.
